(NaPoWriMo Day #5)
I thought it was a dream
The night I learned I could fly
Floating just inches above pavement
Feet dangling; reaching for groundI wasn’t unsteady or scared
But caught up in the beauty
The crisp spring evening air
Flowing over face like mistThinking back on the moment
I know it was reality
I know nature was with me
Welcoming me back from the deadIt knew my name
It knew my desires
It knew that I needed it
I needed to flySo, tonight I go again
Fully aware of the gift
Eager to explore it
Longing to lift awayOn street curb I perch
Inhale cold air deep
Eyes close soft
I step off
Wonderful poem about the discovery of one’s inner power and gift. You did a great great job!

great last line. I step off. Just wonderful. The act of flying… hmmm… is there a way you can incorporate that feeling into your word choices? dunno. But, just wonderful. -tmi

@Cendrine, Thanks!
@thom, Good point about word choices. I’m going to rework a few of these after the month is over and I think this is going to be one of them.
