(NaPoWriMo Day#14)

Today’s poem is inspired from this picture that I took at a show last night. The band is "Listener Project" which consists of Dan Smith, aka Listener, and his wife Kristen (playing the washing machine and bass).

In a band together
They band together
To make music for the masses
For those whose ears will hear

On dark, smoke filled stages
Two hearts beat rhythm and lyrics
Through mics to speakers to
Listeners longing for passion

Eternal words burn internal
Bursting out of wrenched mouth
Spilling into crowd gathered
Soaking into shoes by toes tapping

With a bat she beats percussion
Against metal screaming her thoughts
Her words thrust into every ear
Forcing remembrance to silent minds

They look into each other
At song’s ends they smile
Slightly. Knowing they spoke
Their hearts connecting with ours
