With this life I live
You remain by my side
With no strength to give
In you I can abide

Your warmth; your passion
The comfort of your breast
Your smile; your laugh
With you I find rest

You have no agenda
No reason to doubt
No jealousy; nor fear
When we’re out and about

My mouth fails to speak
The words my heart feels
Slow to pass on my thanks
For your love, so real

With a simple poem I thank you
For all you have done
For all you have given
For the heart you have won
