What I Should Have Said

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

(NaPoWriMo Day#10)
Well enough is done and said Silent words spoken instead In response to verbal barbs Shot quickly and meant for harm
Why is it that time flies by Before you attempt to try [...]

Happy Little Bluebird

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

(NaPoWriMo #9)
Alone flew a bluebird
So happy so free
Soared high in the air
For the whole world to see
Not a care in his head
Not a fear in his mind
So happy go lucky
So joyful so kind
Each flap of his wings
Brought peace to his heart
Each song from his beak
Spurred others to start
Up down, up down
Wings move with a thrust
Fly [...]

I wasn’t unsteady or scared But caught up in the beauty [...]

Bucket Number Seven

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

(NaPoWriMo Day #3)
Bleup Bloup Bleeup
Dripping water expands The mass of massing water In pail number seven
Bleup Bloup Bleeup
Fragile aged knuckles Bending to grasp another Switches pail between drips
Bleup Bloup Bleeup
Lord give me [...]

The Tangible Presence

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

(NaPoWriMo Day #2)
I can feel the air move
As I breathe. Not in my lungs
Or through my nose or mouth
But around me
Like the pressure you feel
When somebody stands too close
Invading your space and
Compressing the air in between
But it’s all around me
Pushing in and against me
Making itself known by
Every move I make
By every breath I take
So I [...]

(NaPoWriMo Day #1 Poem)
Hands grip the steering wheel
At two and ten o’clock
White-knuckled and trembling
A drop of sweat rolls
Down his nose and waits
As if waiting to jump
He’s tempted to lift
Foot off of brake
To push pedal to carpet
To leave the scene
To not take the blame for
What he has done
A discreet glance left
A bolder peek right
A head raise [...]
